Well I just wanted to get a good write up on what mods and supporting mods I'll need (in order) that I should do to hit at least 400HP and still maintain reliability. (Ex. ZZP Heads, Sumata turbo,) etc. No nitrous. So where's the master techs in here?!

Sure there's been plenty of previous threads with this, but hey...I'm a newbie. So far all I have is the stage 6 package from 3800 performance.com.

    I'll start it off.

    1. Stage 6 Package Includes:
--Comps Cam w/Comp Cam valvetrain components
    --Thrasher Transmission Shift Kit
    --SLP Headers & Downpipe
    --PRJ Wires
    --NGK Plugs
    --SLP Loudmouth Exhaust
    --PCM
    --3.4ā€¯pulley
    --Thrasher CAI
    --160 Degree

Are you looking 400 Whp or Crank? there is quite a bit of difference there. And do you wanna stay SC or willing to turbo? Will there be a budget? Need more info to help.

    Here's my list:
    Z7 Turbo kit
    The End.

    Sumata = Stattama

Direct Quote: "Our base turbo kit will take a naturally aspirated 3800 from 200 to 300 HP+ non-intercooled and to 400HP+ intercooled. Adding our kit to a supercharged 3800 will net 400-700HP depending on your configuration."

If your serious about doing it. Then better to do it right. Then reap larger benefits from anything else you do later. (Heads/cam, ect).

You can email Matt M. From Stattama an he will help you come to a decision based on your expectations of what exact configuration is optimal for you. Turbo size (most likely 62-1) type of intercooler (air/air, water/air) ect.
Cheap, Fast, Reliable... you can only pick two

You don't want to know what a Sumata is. Go ask someone Japanese.

And don't forget about the necessary tranny upgrades when dealing with that kind of power.

Well I'm wanting the car to still be reliable. Is turboing it going to keep it safe? Should I upgrade the heads?

turbo will be just as reliable as anything else if you make sure your tranny is up to the task. thats going to be your weak point no matter what.

Lol, no, if your serious about 400 hp to the wheels, want a reliable car and want to be the most efficient on gas, be prepared to cough up $5,000 to $7,000 and talk to Matt from ZZP about a Stattama turbo kit and Transmission.

The record on the M90, (our supercharger) is a little over 400, it is more cost efficient and fuel efficient to go turbo. Stattama turbo kits will put you easily at the power you want as well as upgraded ZZP Z7 Turbo kits. The turbo will allow you to get to 400hp better than the supercharger, plus with the turbo you can always turn down the boost unlike the S/C for fuel efficiency.

Plus, once you get to 400, your going to want 500...

The "Cheaper Kit" being the Z7 is intended to make 400hp on the L67. Which I understood to be the goal.
The Stattama kit is setup with 500hp in mind an isn't much more then a Z7 kit with more upgrades (bigger pipes bigger turbo's more options). They are made an designed by the same guy.
