I am replacing a valve spring that broke. It also appears to have damaged the valve stem seal. Just the very upper part. I need to get the car running asap. The lower portion of the seal appears to be in fine shape.

I will try to find one tomorrow but if I cannot will the seal still function with a small portion (less than 1/32") of the seal gone of damaged?

Without a pic etc. I'd say you are taking the chance of it leaking a little oil into the cylinder. The good part is that you can burn a little oil w/o any real issues until you can order a set of seals and get back to 100%
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I would get some seals. Any machine shop that does head work should have some.
