    I am about to cut the resonator off and replace it with a straight pipe. does anyone know if it will be extremely loud? its on a 2006 GT.

    it wont be much louder, but it will have less 'tone' and more 'rasp'.

    Get rid of the cat...that'll give you the deeper tone with less rasp...or just get a 3" catless downpipe.

    If I get rid of the cat won't it start throwing trouble codes. I don't know much about fuel injected cars or the obd system. I am an old school gear head.

    yes, it will throw a check engine light, but you can delete the codes so it doesnt show up again if you know someone with a tuner.

    I am looking for more sound and free flow but every cat back I look at is around 400-500 bucks.any ideas? I am sticker shocked cause I did the whole exhaust on my T/A headers and all for like 300.

    the catbacks for these cars are way overpriced. just pick out some mufflers you like and swap mufflers only and youll get what youre looking for.

    my $.02... i replaced my res with a glasspack, left the cat, and took off the mufflers and i like the sound. cost me 200 to have that done along with 2.5 inch pipe, and 40 bucks for the dp to be welded in.
