Hi guys im new to this sight but not new to working on cars and bikes. I signed up to this forum for some helpful info. Here's the deal. I have a 99 grand prix gt that i have been having problems with the motor. Its been getting water in the intake its making a puddle above my heads laying in the lower intake and causing my car to try to run on water lol. So i changed upper and lower intake gaskets and tb gasket. It still does it. When u rev the motor it collapses my radiator hoses and fills my motor with water. Everyone keeps saying head gaskets but if were that then how is there water sitting above the heads in the intake. Well here is what iv decided to do. I found a 3.8 super charged motor and hae decided to put that in. I know i have to have the ecu and wiring harness, but here is my question. My car is a 4 door with all options and the car im getting the motor and ecu out of is a 2 door gtp. My question is will a 2 door ecu work on a 4 door correctly, and still let all of my windows and etc. to work? Also will i have to get the ecu reflashed or redone to work on my car or can i just plug and play and have no problems? I need a 100% correct answer not just people guessing this is my daily driver and i dont need a piece of garbage thats just gonna break down. Any help is appreciated

What do you mean 3.29 gearing? What about the computer with it coming from a 2 door going into the 4 door? Does it have to be reflashed for my vin to work properly? I wana mae sure my power windows and keyless entry still work. I shouldnt need a tune if its just a straight swap should i

your still using the gt trans, it has 3.29 vs gtp trans with 2.93 gear ratio. So either way your still going to have to take the gtp pcm and flash changes for 3.29 gearing . Your power windows etc etc will work just fine.

The final drive ratio is different. Your tires will be spinning at a different speed than what the computer thinks they should and it will cause lots of issues. I do not think a dealer can change the final drive ratio in the pcm. You just need to get an aftermarket pcm from one of the 3800 vendors.

only 97 trans is vac controlled. u dont need a dyno tune. u can order one from many of the vendors. or just get reptile "site vendor" to do it for u. just send him the pcm.

Your car will not be drivable. It will idle, but it will not shift. You will not need a dyno tune.

hell, anyone with a tuner can do it for you, you just need to make sure they have an off-board adapter.

I have an off-board adapter, i would do it for you, only if i knew how to use it

ok, IT WILL NOT DRIVE AT ALL WITH OUT THE CORRECT TRANS TUNE
step 1. find reptile on this site
step 2. pm him saying you just put a l67 in your gt
step 3. send him your pcm
    step 4. receive your pcm
    step 5. drive your car

in all seriousness, your task is so simple either contact reptile, or even find a local with a tuner, the job is about 15 minutes worth of work.

Btw manual shifting an automatic car will leave you with a red ass, its full of fail and destruction.
