Ive got a comp g but it needs a new motor. Can I just buy a non s/c motor and do a top swap or is there more to it than that? Wouldn't it be cheaper to get her running than buying a gtp or comp g motor?

the gtp motor is the comp g motor, there is no difference. you also cannot do a top swap without blowing up your motor again unless you add some supporting mods to the mix (mainly headers).

i suggest you buy another L32 (the engine you need to complete your car again) and be done with it.

ehh id rather have the L26 with the higher compression. I have seen it many of times and they run better than the L67/L32 counterparts

i agree, but for someone not willing to put more parts on the car WITH the top swap then there will be problems.

Car is stock...its my DD and I just want her back on the road. I don't mind getting dirty but I dont want to spend a fortune...if I can get away with an l26 and swapping my top end with some new headers then that seems like it would be pretty easy. My question is, is that all I need for an l26 is headers?

and a good tune with possibly lower than stock timing because of the boost on a high compression block.
