Hi Everyone. I still have a completely stock Comp G.

Just wondering. When going to pulley swaps everyone recommends a "Tune." Is it possible to just get a programs and harness and do this myself or is this something I need to have done? Also, is it possible to have a laptop setup and be able to scan for KR and stuff? I'm in a rural area and there aren't any speeds shops or anything around. Buying an off the shelf PCM just seems a little scary to me. I only want to run 13's but, I want to do it right.

If your Comp G is an '04-'05 then you have nothing to worry about for a mail order PCM from DHP. They have been tried and true for years and work great. As long as you have some form of Headers/180* T-Stat/Colder Plugs/3.6" Pulley/Intake...then you'll be fine.

If not, you can buy a used DHP Powertuner or a new HP Tuners suite.

blu.... when you say "mail order" tune do you mean sending the pcm in and having them tweak it of just straight up buying a new pcm that is programmed for the mods you have? just need quick clarification please.

mail order tunes will be a generic tune that may or may not work well with your mods. basically its a tune that is spec'd out through a few options you select. it will NEVER stack up to a street tune that someone does while sitting in the passenger side of your car.

Your best bet is to find someone in your area that tunes, i'm sure there are several around. Depending on the tuning software they use, they may charge you $100+, unless you get lucky. Scanning for KR is usually quick and free though.
