if your not planning to drop pulley sizes theres no point in headers, 3 in catted or non catted DP would be ur best bet... headers will take a good bit of low end torque away from your car on a stock pulley. u will notice a small gain of balls with DP.

Headers. They will give you better gas mileage too.

Who ever said headers if your modding?

Bullsh1t...I'd put headers on a bone stock car...they threw down 18 wheel horse on a SSEi...tune it...I'd bet you'd see well over 20 to the tire. The price headers are now for these cars...just buy them. DP's are a waste of money now-a-days

^This^. /thread. I recommend the SSAC headers personally, a lot of bang for the buck. And good quality .

Is there any way to put a cat on the SSAC's? Is it possible to just weld it on? Or really is going no cat that big of deal? All I care about is my car not smelling to me or other people when I'm driving it.

the ssac headers downpipe has a slip in straight pipe where you can either put in a cat or leave it catless

im still lost as to why the OP is getting suggestions for headers with no intentions of modding as its a DD.... my car drastically lost low end with my headers, thats the best part of the GTP is that low end... no pulley drop after headers= slower than stock IMO. my car with the few mods in signature was a good bit faster with just a downpipe than it is with headers. bluegtp says ssei got gains of 18 hp to the wheels, thats believable... but what rpm range was that.... 5k range? dude is simply looking to get CAT replaced and stay stock.

Actually...it was across the board. Sure, most of the gains were noticed at higher RPM's...but your not "losing" power like you think you were with your headers...your just moving the powerband.

maybe i worded that wrong, well i did.... my low end got replaced with high end... i loved my low end, gettin pushed back in seat from a dig... kinda lost that with headers. hopefully get my 3.4 and tune soon and get some of that back.
