One of my friends just installed an XP cam and it seems like he is seeing some unusual numbers. His mod list is: XP cam, 2.8", SSIC, 105# springs, modded retainers, pacesetters, N*, FWI. His max boost is currently 5 psi and his vac at idle is 10 in Hg Is it just me or are both of these numbers very low? And what would be causing this? a bad vac leak?

vacuum doesnt sound horrible, im rockered and my car only gets around 14 in vac when warm. the boost sounds a little low, is the bbv working correctly? sounds like the bbv is bleeding off boost.

I see almost 12 lbs of boost with my setup and 16 inches of vacuum. 9.6.5:1 L26 XP cam P&P heads, Gen V, 3.2 pulley.

See if the BBV is unplugged. If it's not, unplug it and see if it changes anything. With the BBV not functioning/plugged in, it should limit the boost to 5psi, so troubleshoot that.

If he's running a 2.8 pulley with a ssic, he should have a tuner close by or he's in trouble, have him post up a scan.
