First of all I am new to this forum and just purchased a 2007 GP GT 3.8 Super Charged. I am looking for some mod, idea's that will aid in performance. I am not ready to jump right in and do a exhaust, and heads etc.. I am looking for ideas that are more of a bolt on, or just not extream right off the bat.

I also want to insure that I do not pose any issue with my GM warranty.
I am interested in a Cold air intake, but do not know which is the best for money and one that will perform well in all the Minnesota seasons.

I don't really know what other items would be a go start, I am looking to drop up to 500.00.

So if your motor heads can throw some ideas my way I would appreciate it.

    thanks ........

    bolt ons:

    headers/ported manifolds and downpipe
    ported throttle body
    ported blower
    intake (make your own)
    thermostat (180* instead of 195*)
    plugs (colder than stock)

    kind of bolt ons:

    rockers
    pulleys

dont even THINK about a pulley unless you have a considerable amount of mods. the series III needs more mods than a series II in order to drop pulleys.

wizaird looks nice and it functions very well. the k&n is pretty sheisty for how much it costs.

either that or you can make your own intake out of 4" abs tubing with a 9" cone filter. pretty easy and cheap. you need a 3"->4" coupler for the throttle body, a 22.5* 4" bend and some 4" tubing. cut them all the right right size and glue them babies together. bam, instant cheap intake. you can even paint it a pretty color.

If you are going to do an intake I would suggest a Fender Well Intake. It is fairly easy to craft and it makes your car sound really good. Downpipe and Intake are two fairly simple bolt ons that will give you a nice gain in power.

No, the wizair is an intake that comes with a box to sit behind your headlight designed to suck in air from everywhere but the engine bay heat.

The fenderwell intake is a long tube that extends into your fender, where you mount the filter, drawing in the coldest air.

You can go either way though. FWI will probably require some fabrication on your part.

Yah as FoSHO put it the FWI will take some fabrication. I have the JMB intake but I am not sure if that will fit in an 04+. If you aren't going to go with a FWI then I think that a Wizair is your best bet. Everything ive read, reviews etc, say that the wizair is the best CAI (Cold Air Intake).
