This may be long, so please bear with me. I have posted this in another area too.
I have been chasing a sound under the front of my car for some time now. I thought it was the struts and thought it would quit when they were replaced. It didn't. I installed 4 new AGX struts with new strut mounts and vogtland springs. I also installed front tie rods, both front axles and lubbed the urethane sway bar bushings) just for good measure. The damn thing still creaks when I go over bumpy roads or speed bumps. It sounds like an old jalopy. It has 59,000 miles on it. Stay with me...
For a while now, my 3" DP has been hitting my ( GMPP) sway bar when I romp it, and it will hit the firewall ( I think) if I give it too much gas in reverse. So, I thought maybe my engine/ tranny mounts are bad in one combination or another. I have not checked yet but that is next on the list. Here is the exhaust part...
My exhaust system has been dragging speed bumps way before I ever lowed the car. It drags on the DP to cat back flange.
IS it possible that the exhaust is re-positioned and sagging because there is a bad tranny or motor mount? and
Could that creaking be caused by the worn mount due to the engine just bouncing in the mount?
Any help is greatly appreciated because this is making me hate the car right now.
Thanks,
Dean
