SO after my build had a bad oil leak
at first found out the oil pressure sensor cracked no biggie just replaced it i have had a slight oil leak since figured it was the pan no worries well yesterday had it on a rack and im pretty sure its the front seal

Kinda sucks considering I dont have the tool to pull the crank
I also dont have a seal driver either guess ill be heading to harbor tools in a while

I guess i can get another crank bolt and rig it to work with my standard puller

Or I can just be lazy and Take it to a shop my garage has a car in it and i aint dooin it in the rain

To many hands in the cookie jar on my build lots of little mistakes its frustrating

Just rent a puller from autozone and get the 3 specific screws needed to make it work if you do a search here. The front seal can be tapped into place carefully without using a seal driver.

not from what i saw it doesnt have the right adapter for the threads in the crank to slide the crank off
well maybe the schools didnt i havent looked at mine yet

When i did mine with my build i cut my old crank bolt and used it the push against

this is how i had to do it before
    Unless theres something im missing
Also im the service manual it calls for a separate j tool number then a basic harmonic puller

Good call may have to try it

When i thought it was the pan leaking I just ignored it and kept an eye on the oil due to it being a pain in the arse
But since i found out its the seal i want it fixed maybe ill do it later on today

i never had to thread the shaft into the crank, it just pushed up against the socket extension i threw in there.

just stick a 3/8" extension like bio said. Then put your harmonic balancer puller on there with your longer bolts and be done with it.

    I will
    basically
when i came up with cutting the bolt
I was stressed in class due to time constraints and such so i maid it harder then it had to be plus one of my team tried pulling it before that and damaged the threads a bit so i was already pissed

actually, the way you did it with the two different threaded rods makes sense. its pretty much the same concept of the socket extension. you just dont want to **** up the threads for the crank bolt.
