I've read alot of the Alky Threads so far and i'm trying to learn the best that i can before i post.

I've boughten a used Devils Own Progressive kit from an individual on Club GP. See below.

I'm unsure on the nozzle sizes at the moment until i get it home.

    So now with the questions.

1.) If i decide to tap my window washer tank is it unsafe to spray the windshield to wash it off or is a 50/50 mix about the same as windshield washing fluid. I would try not to do this if all possible but my car is a DD.

2.) If i decide to go with a remote tank for the alky where is the most common mounting spot. Bio showed me where he mounts his to his fender brace and another gentleman put his in the trunk.

3.) What size would best fit my needs. I was thinking a 3qt or a 4qt tank so that I could pour a whole jug in at a time. If i used Devils Brew.

4.) Do alot of you run the float in your remote tanks for low level alerts if so where do you put your alert light if there is one or is it built into the controller.

5.) I currently run a PB of 14.157 @ 98mph before headers, ported Sc & TB, and pulley drop to 3.25" last year or so. My Mods were 3" catless dp, 180* Tstat, AL104s, 3.4", and PEMS, and a good tune.

What are your projections now with the added headers and meth if tuned properly.

6.) How essential is a wide-band o2 for tuning meth? Should i start looking for one ???

7.) Do you guys that run Alky on a DD go through it pretty quick? Should i buy enough Devils Brew to stockpile ?

I'm just trying to get out all the things i haven't found multiple answers too as my mind is spinning trying to figure all of this out. Also when i get ready to install and get this all going i will probably have Reptile do my tuning and help me adjust my alky and such.

    TIA

    -Ryan

you can wash the windshield with straight methanol if you wanted, its just going to evaporate super fast so youll have to use a lot of it to actually get the windshield clean.

2.) If i decide to go with a remote tank for the alky where is the most common mounting spot. Bio showed me where he mounts his to his fender brace and another gentleman put his in the trunk.

remote tank would be best put in the trunk, but i liked to keep everything contained to one area so i kept it all in the front of the engine bay. i also had to intake to get in my way.

3.) What size would best fit my needs. I was thinking a 3qt or a 4qt tank so that I could pour a whole jug in at a time. If i used Devils Brew.

i had a half gallon tank and it lasted a long time once i started spraying less after my tune. i dont think you need anything over that.

4.) Do alot of you run the float in your remote tanks for low level alerts if so where do you put your alert light if there is one or is it built into the controller.

the low level is not built into the controller, so youll need to put a bulb somewhere where youll see it (the dash).

5.) I currently run a PB of 14.157 @ 98mph before headers, ported Sc & TB last year or so. My Mods were 3" catless dp, 180* Tstat, AL104s, 3.4", and PEMS, and a good tune.

this is very hard to say. with the right launch and tune i could see low 13s, but without a good tune i could see mid to high 13s.

6.) How essential is a wide-band o2 for tuning meth? Should i start looking for one ???

its not really that big of a deal, but its nice to have to get your car in check overall. you always want to tune without the meth, then tune with the meth. i would suggest only spraying it from like 7-8 psi and up, which is where most people experience the most knock (this is where i sprayed on my setup).

7.) Do you guys that run Alky on a DD go through it pretty quick? Should i buy enough Devils Brew to stockpile ?

1/2 gallon for me lasted like a month and i did not treat my car well. also take into consideration that it didnt even start spraying until i was actually pretty far into the pedal.

I'm just trying to get out all the things i haven't found multiple answers too as my mind is spinning trying to figure all of this out. Also when i get ready to install and get this all going i will probably have Reptile do my tuning and help me adjust my alky and such.

i answered above for my opinions. enjoy.

also, i would ditch the throttle body spacer and just tap the blower case or your throttle body. that spacer is just another place to have a leak in the system.

Okay so now i've got another question. Should i get some smaller pulleys than the 3.25 i have on there now? If so what size? 3.2 3.1 3.0?

And I've read that some have put their controller in the cigarette ash tray. Any pics of this??? Is this similar to when people used to retrofit their AFC's into the ash tray too back before the GP world had tuners. I think that would be a good place for it if i can make it fit.

I installed my controller in the little cubby on the left of the steering wheel. As for smaller pulleys, I picked up the 3.2 for my car, but you could try the 3.1 or 3.0. As long as you have no knock after it's tuned, either for boost or timing.

no reason to have so many in between pullies. i had a 3.4, 3.2, and 3.0 and only ever made it to the 3.2 because we ran out of time for tuning.

Even a 3.1" is pushing it...you'll run out of fuel before dropping to a 3.0".

not if you throw a ton of meth at it too. id assume at that point youd be able to lean it out.

A good shot of meth will net you the ability to get to a 3.0 if you really need it. Not necessary though.

And Brian do you have your meth in the washer tank ?

that is correct. the only way youre gonna know is by scanning and watching your IPWs. 21.xxx ms or or is supposed to be static (no more left to give), but sometimes you can go a little higher without it knocking. just watch them in comparison to your KR. a fuel pressure gauge would help here too.

Well Lets Pray that i don't need the injectors quite yet.

So now i got another question. The only nozzles that came with my kit were M15 and are way too big. These are also the inside mount type nozzles. Hopefully the outside mount nozzle will mate up to my tb spacer and i could just use the pre-existing hole. Or I could tap the TB it's self.

Should i go ahead and convert to the outside mount nozzles and be done with it? Also i noticed that my pump doesn't have the quick disconnects for the lines. I'm guessing i could get those from devils own as well ?

I have noticed that on some peoples installs they have used these quick connects as seen here.... http://www.alcohol-injection.com/90-...itting-28.html

Do these make installs alot easier and where do you get the tubing? Just at a local parts store or is it special...?

Last question... My Pump did not come with a mount is this something you all have been fabing up or do they usually have a mount attached to them. There are two small threaded areas on the back of the pump looking like something used to be there.

    As Always TIA!

i ran an inside mount M5 and never had any problems. with the controller you can scale it so it acts like a smaller nozzle, so its pretty easy to work with. i never worried about changing it either since its so easy to get to even with having to disassemble things to get at it.

also, my pump came with a bracket on it.

Cool. Maybe i'll just use the inside mount nozzle and call it good then. On another note i did email Devils Own asking them if i could purchase a new mount for the pump.

Just an update and a few more questions. I got a pump mount from Chance for 5 bux shipped. I have everything for the kit now except the gaskets for the TB and spacer.

My question is where do you guys mount your controllers. My little cubby is already occupied with my HALO Fog-light controller. I was thinking of putting it in the cig lighter area but that would require fabrication or Velcro-ing it to the back of the cubby under the cig lighter.

I also saw a picture of a guy who took out his center cubby behind the drink holders and fabbed up a pannel under the arm rest for switches and such which looked pretty cool.

Ok I got another question to my never ending thread. I have searched and am either not finding it or over looking it. How to you guys make your own mixes. I'd like to go 50/50 or 60/40 for my meth mix. I have 4 qt's of straight Meth right now from the Diamond International dealership downtown. I've been told airline antifreeze is 100% methanol.

So if i got lets say a 2 gallon gas can and put all 4 qt's in and put a gallon of water in would that be good for a 50\50 mix ? Do i need to use distilled water if i went that route ?

I've also heard people using windshield fluid and mixing in their own meth too to bump up the mix level. I could do that as well but it seems like your consistency's would vary between tank fill-ups.

the only problem with windshield washer fluid is that it stains everything blue.

if you want a 50/50 mix, then mix equal parts of meth and water. if i were you, id just run the 100% and be done. i just poured my meth in 100% and didnt have to worry about mixing.
