I am perplexed by this one guys. Hoping someone can shed some light. Few weeks ago the SE bogged out like the MAF went bad. Unhooked the IAT to get the idle to somewhat even out enough to drive home. Had a spare sensor lying around to throw in. Popped it in and idle was fine, drive around was fine so all good right? Nope. The car will consistently bog about a half hour of driving whether it be freeway or city. Give it a few minutes and it will kick back to normal. I've checked the harness for any loose points as well as melted wires that may be crossing. I've bought a new sensor thinking that would resolve the issue and to no avail. I'm literally at a loss as to why it will only effect the car once per trip and always after about 30 minutes of driving (haven't timed it, but ballpark), and ALWAYS for only a few minutes before going back to normal.

Don't see how this could or would effect it, but this did start happening after wiring in the Digital DIC. I only tapped into the speedo and radio so not a clue how that would effect it? I did tap into a data line on the OBD connector, but still don't see how that would effect it either. If anyone has had this issue please shed some light as to the cause

Try disconnecting the wire you tapped into the data line and see if it still does it.If it does i would check the maf connector to see if its getting the proper voltage to the sensor.

The following are general possible causes:

Large Vacuum Leaks, split Intake Air Boot or PCV Hose, defective intake manifold gaskets
Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) Circuit and or wiring problems
Defective Barometric Pressure Sensor (possibly bad MAP input for GPs)
Dirty or Contaminated Mass Air Flow Sensing Wire or Filament
PCM software needs to be updated

Ten years of continuous driving excitement and counting!

So you think maybe a faulty MAF? I mean I tried a used one and no luck which is why I bought a new one, when the problem still continued

I had a pcm from DHP once that had a bad ground in the PCM. It caused my AC not to kick on. Replaced the PCM and all was well. It's possible since you have already ruled out the maf.

I would also hook up a scanner and check your maf reading. You should be able to see what its doing as far as voltage and signal wise.

i had 2 codes on mine that pointed to both the maf and the purge solenoid. The maf was new and it said low voltage for the solenoid, turned out to just be a bad fuse
