105# seem to wear the valvetrain less. do not get comp springs. yes you need modded retainers.

L76 springs from the g8's, order from the dealer, its like $26 for 5 of them so you would have to get 3 sets.

Do you need modded rockers for the L76 springs?

^^You mean modded "retainers" right? No...just the L76 ones IIRC. I used #90 LS6 springs/retainers when I did my XP setup...or more commonly known as yellow 90's.

    Or...get Crow 105's

different retainers, but order the springs from gmpartsdirect, not the dealer like i said above.

The L76 springs are supposed to be a little better than the LS6's but either would do just fine.

You need LSx retainers whenever you use LSx style springs, which includes the L76 springs. You do NOT need the modded retainers, those are just modded for clearance.

For the L76 springs, yes. I just got done installing some 1.9 rockers with L76 springs and retainers. I got 16 springs and retainers on ebay for $60.
