waste. people will continue to do business with them. they are good at what they do, ill give them that. I went up when my car wouldnt run, thinking it was their pcm, but it turned out that the crank/cam sensor harness has rubbing the balancer causing a short to ground, they figured it out right away but still charged me 2 hours labor at $100 an hour. Then an additional 1 hour of dyno time for 2 ****ing pulls, until they realized that my cat was clogged. Then tim had the balls to bring me out a set of zzp headers and say hed install them and everything for $1000, I politely laughed and told him i had SSAC's on the way for a 1/3 of that price.
ya thats what shawn said was wrong with your car. But thats ****ing ****ty how they charged that much. haha the ones he brought out were probably mine that he had sitting right at the door.
They won't stop...they are always loud and annoying...thats why I tell everyone not to buy them.
I pointed that out to you a few months ago noobsauce. *smacks forehead*
Not really...just calling it how it is there.
Haha well i dont remember blue. i smoke myself stupid so i always forget ****. lol
What rocker arms are you using with this build? Since you are using the Comp OE-R lifters they are going to tick a bit and are much more sensative than the stock lifters to preload, so a little loose or a little tight and they will make excessive noise and can trigger false KR at low rpms while driving around so you will definatly want to keep an eye on that. You are correct that they shouldnt have as much preload and 1/4 to 3/4 turn is where you want to be at.
As far as the tick being from the headers that is highly possible if you dont have a good seal. I use OE GM steel gaskets on everything and spray copper spray on the header side and it works great. The felpro gaskets work very well also at sealing up problem areas as well.
Ive never had any problems using felpros.
how can i measure the preload of the lifter so i can rule out the possibility u stated trannyman?
