I'm installing a machined LIM since I'm in there fixing a coolant leak. I have a Felpro plenum gasket which obviously has the openings to match the OEM LIM. Have most of you cut the gasket to match the machine LIM?

Just curious why you bothered to have your LIM machined.
If you have stock heads and you don't have an intercooler its kinda pointless : \
I plan on adding an intercooler later and rather than pull up the LIM twice, I did the machined LIM now. Baby steps, I guess.

Isn't the divider not that tall at all? if so, i'd leave it, it just helps redirect the flow of air.
??? i know zzp sells their lim with divider cut out as well as the s/c section opened up, i'd rather doit myself and gasket match/port the runners. my o.p. of course
Dont cut out the divider in the lim, that hurts flow.

Generally if you're running really high in the engine speed, go for open.
But our engines make no power up there so its best to leave it on that assumption.
Huh, i thought we were talking about the little air divider in the bottom of the lim, why would anyone take that out?

In high performance small blocks and big blocks, the IM's they run typically do not have a divider yet the all time classic, Edelbrock Performer does since its not for high revving engines.

Look at the associated RPM ranges.
This isnt even the same type of divider nor the same type of engine. The lim divider is not even a restriction period so why would you do that. You are actually hurting it because the air that would ramp off of it shooting towards the runners are now unable to do that. It just makes no sense period.
Lets see...both undersquare, both OHV.... I realize there are many other differences, but theres not much you can do to overcomplicate an intake manifold short of having more than one runner (which would have been a good idea...)
I agree with what you're saying because if you check out the RPM ranges for the undivided IM's, its 3000-8000... far from the powerband of these engines.
The manifold runners arent divided to begin with so i dont see what you are saying. The manifold you showed has a completely different design to begin with.
