Not sure what is being refered to as air only being pulled from the headlights:th_scratchhead:. I actually took my cutoff tool on my compressor and cut excess metal to make the fenderwell access larger to the wizaired box that mates up with it. So even if my headlight area isnt allowing much airflow, the dang hole to my fender will allow all the air it can suck. Hole is 3x the size of the filter.
I like the FWI because the airbox takes up so much room. I have thought of switching for appearance reasons only.
But I do have to say this whole CAI topic is :th_beatdeadhorse:
There are a few good options, and everyone is going to back what they believe. My advice take the info and make a choice based on what you think makes sense.

That design is the same on the GPs too.
As for the comment I said eariler. I never said "air only being pulled from the headlights", I said "The Wizaired has no air coming unless the headlight is removed", as in there ain't steady airflow being pushing into the CAI box when the car is moving. Sure air is being pulled in behind the headlight and the Fenderwell, every CAI on the market does that. But unless you headlight is removed, you ain't getting a steady air flow into the CAI box. The lid is below the radiator support so air coming through the hood gap is going into the engine bay and the box ain't catching any of it. Thats what I was saying.
All the CAI options out there are good, choose what you want. You can't go wrong. Although I would recommend saving some $$$ and buying a used setup and modding it to you liking (thermal barriers, etc), There for sale all the time on ClubGP, I picked up my GFs Thrasher CAI dirt cheap off there. When I have time, i'll do a few thermal mods to it and it'll perform real nice. Granted I bought my CAI new and got good use out of it, nowadays I would just recommend picking up a good used one honestly. HTH...

My vote is with open cone, I see MAF readings well above 10khz! The more air the better, and I get no KR at WOT ever.

As far as looks go, I am super happy with the JMB. I imagine it performs just as good as any other FWI, even a homemade one. My only real complaint with the JMB is it has absolutely no give and tends to work itself loose from the throttlebody from the normal engine movement. This happens now matter how tight I make it since it's rubber connection to the TB is so short. I'm half tempted to cut it down a bit and try a longer rubber coupler. Also, not much I can do with it if I switch to an LS1 or N* later down the road. It would have to be cut significantly to allow the placement of the MAF for either of those TB swaps.

they didnt come with the intake i just bought a jbm and it just came with regular clamps....
i just tightend the heck out of the clamps and it has not come off for me....also do not use the rubber piece that they give you for the throttlebody...just leave it off...helps it grip better when it goes in the groove in the throttlebody.....but then again i just bought solid polly upper mounts too...that also helps i guess
