The noise I thought was CV joints could be engine or tranny mount? When I put it in reverse I hear a clunk... Then When I put it in drive the clunk only happens when accelerate for the first time then nothing..... I can come to a complete stop and stomp it and no noise but if i put it in reverse and give it gas 1 clunk is it. Put it in drive and clunk only happens during 1st accelration. Had suspension checked 3 times and last weekened took both wheels off and found nothing that could be doing it. Coming front left side. Tried looking for the mounts but no idea where they are yet. This is very frustrating... Any ideas guys?

well i know this is really old but what did it turn out to be cause i have similar symptoms and in our cars theres the intermediate steering shaft problem which could cause this. i was parked on a ramp when we were doin my oil change had to give it a lil gas when backin up it made a bangin noise than when accelerating it shakes on deceleration it shakes without my foot bein on either gas pedal or brake im wondering if the shaking is related or entirely something else
