Turned the sensors off and trapped 4mph higher...? What the? Yep, it's pulling spark even thought it does need to? Why? Because it's not real? Could that be?!?!?! OMG!!!! Wowowowowowow!!!!!!
And for the other guy asking how it's tuned, uhhhh i turned off the knock sensors... which would be considering altering the stock tune... wow, took a mad scientist to figure that one out.
Oh, Ok.
lol. Thanks

Thats not the smartest thing you did there...:th_shakinghead1:
What you should have done was changed your knock sensors if you thought they were falsely pulling timing. That or properly tuned the car.

As for on topic, i have heard GM knock sensors are about as reliable as their CPS's.
I misread the post that guy made hence my "offensive post". He changed his knock sensors... Not removed/disabled them.
Unless I am mistaken with that understanding in which case, lets feed him to the dogs. :th_thumbsup-wink:
you bashed a member. therfore infraction was given.:th_thumbsup-wink:
I heard that rumor about the knock sensor/CPS as well..
the 03/04 cobras do not have knock sensors.... :th_nervous:

That right there proves you are a fool. Knocking/pinging is not going to destroy an engine. Excessive amounts of it for an extended period will. "Back to the old days" as you put it, you would roll the distributor forward (bump timing) until you got pinging, then step it back a touch. So which is it?

You can't blow up a stock 3800, it's false "knock" as in, it's not real, you're a fool to think it's real. You have no clue what you're talking about, you have no experience, you have no knowledge, you have nothing. Just stop posting.

Mike,
Do our community a favor and please stop posting this FALSE AND UNDOCUMENTED information you are posting! And you need to STOP bashing other members of the GPF forum, plain and simple.
IF and this is a BIG IF, you have FACTUAL PROVEN KNOWLEDGE what you say is true? And I don't mean just because YOUR CAR does it, then post it with credible sources to prove your point. And if you don't? (Which I am sure you don't have). PLEASE STOP!!!
This is my own only warning to you.

You quoted me, but what you posted in no way corresponded to what I had written. I said that you would not destroy an engine just by knocking...not right away. Why not try again, and this time address what I actually posted.
Also, it is pretty cavalier of you to tell me what I have and do not have, with you having zero knowledge of who I am...if you want a dick measuring contest, go ahead and break out the ruler. I am sure there are plenty of folks here that can put you to shame in whatever aspect you desire to use as a metric, myself included.

I believe this is related to the high KR and was wondering what other factors that could occur over time would increase boost to that level. From what I have read, stock pulley usually generate between 7-8 lbs.
Our cars differ greatly in boost measurements with the same pulleys. Some people claim to have a max of five pounds boost with the stock pulley and some record 9....I was one who had nine pounds of boost on stock pulley, however I had no knock and no mods at the time...this has been discussed many times and there are no measurements that are the same boost wise on our vehicles...it is just an approximation of how well our intake/motor/exhaust flow together everything considered unless something is way out of line.
