Well, I've browsed the forums and haven't found anything for tough hot starts, so here it goes. Yesterday it was warm (85F) and when I went to restart my 2002-40thGTP (38k mi) it was tough to get going. It took a good five seconds of cranking each time until it started. This happened twice; once it sat for more than an hour and the second time after sitting for ten minutes. Once started it ran fine. There was no gas smell during start up nor did the engine seem to "catch" at all during the extended cranking until the very end. It has done this before but not nearly this bad. "Normally", sometimes when its hot it will start "slowly", but not will much additional cranking. Is this a problem that can be "BG-44k"ed away? lol. Or seafoamed through intake?
On an unrelated note... I replaced the MAF on a Ford Tempo and for a week or so after, it took a long cranking to get it going when it was hot. But somehow, I suspect magic, the problem went away all by itself.
