Yea anytime you start doing hardcore engine work its not easy, but just take it in steps and read read read a lot about it and really understand how it all goes together/comes apart and it makes life a lot easier. At least you have some nice people on here to help support you and give you valuable information. I want to learn a lot more about the 3800/POS tranny i mean ugh 4T65E-HD lolQuote:

Its an oldschool pushrod engine. Theres a reason it needs boost to make power.
Granted you get all the parts including the computer and the complete harness, I don't really see what the issue would be.

i dont see how it could? i "think" the only differences in 97-2002 is the vac modulated trans...
I thought 97 was the goofy year, that 98-02 was compatible? Am I wrong?
97 GT/SE only for that vac tranny...
Throttle bodies are different IRRC.

that sucks about your car, mine did the same thing (you were right bluegtp91 about gt's knocking) did you ever find a solid answer about the whole '97 engine question?? i found a 97 l67 and i want to swap it and keep my gt trans, I have a '99 gt. am i gonna be ok?
