around here we have lots of ice, and salty pavement, if i romp on it from a stop on ice or horrible traction on pavement, the speedo will roll up to 40-50ish and then the engine will lose power and come back down to a speed that matches actual rolling speeds. it acts similar to traction control but i dont know if it might be something else.

your speedo goes by how fast your wheels are spinning. so if you accelerate hard on a slipping surface...the wheels will spin therefore giving you high speedo readouts. Once you gain traction the speedo will go back down.

If the engine is actually loosing power without you letting go of the accelerator that means your traction control system is working.

what gtp has traction control? it feels like it loses fuel but it might be spark, so i was thinking it was pushing too much for the fuel pump

this happens mostly on pure ice so its not traction slowing the wheels, i know i shouldnt slam on it on ice but after it happened one during a snow storm and i was trying to leave an intersection i decided to attempt it a few more times, what bothered me the worst is when it did it on dry pavement with bad traction.

You have a few things working against you.

    Traction control
    Torque Management
    Engine Management

All are in place to save you from replacing the transmission and engine.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
