I installed my yt 1.9 and 105 springs a few weeks ago and i was in such a rush to get out of the shop i really didnt pay as much attention to aligning the rocker to the valve as much as i should have i know the tip of the rocker is on the valve at the time i was under the assumption that it centers its self when tightened down i did not notice that there was a little play on the rocker arm and pedistal till i was done with the back and now i am thinking of opening it back up just to check and center them is this necessary

I noticed my valvetrain got a little louder i can hear a faint tapping at idle i have heard other cars louder than mine but it was quieter before is this common with yt rockers

I also noticed a slight vibration at 900-1100 rpm i cant remember if it was there before

With YT rockers, you definitely need to use the pushrods they give you, they're a different length than stock... a little longer, I think.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to recheck the rocker bolt torque.

Agreed with all the above. YT's are a perfect fit every time I've installed them. Make sure you used the pushrods that came with them. Take off valve covers and check to see if they are lining up and loosen, adjust, and re-torque them. Use a dab of red locktite on the threads.

make sure you get any oil out of the rocker bolt holes... otherwise you won't reach the proper torque spec

I didn't notice any noise from the rockers. Sounded like stock.

Thanks guys for all your advice i tore into it yesterday and found them all perfectly lined up i did buy them used and have a slight side to side play on all the rollers but didnt think it is my problem i am now thinking maybe the lifter is a little weak but the noise is a faint taping so i am not very concerned

I also installed the intense oil pressure kit without the washer i was thinking with the yt pushrods my oil pressure would be to high but now i am reconsidering i am going to install a oil pressure gauge at work and see where its at with and without the washer intense said the spring is stock so whats the difference with zzp kit i was under the impression that 2004 and up had a higher pressure

My Harland sharp 1.9's were slightly noisy for a couple weeks after install with 105 crows. They are completely quiet now though.
I wouldn't say anything is wrong, probably just weak plungers in the lifters.

The rockers don't effect oil pressure. They rely on a small amount of oil coming up through the holes in the pushrods that the lifters provide. The oil gets squirted on the top of the rocker providing lubrication. Is that faint tapping noise there all the time, or does it come and go? My thought is a fuel injector is starting to go out. The 04's do have about 5 psi. or so more oil pressure. Iirc., that is why the newer 3800's run 5w-30.

I figured that with the oil restricted pushrods and a new spring the pressure would rise in the rest of the system

The noise is when the engine is hot

It more pronounced after reving the engine and it seems like one or two rockers are louder than the rest on each head i am also thinking that if it was a injector it would not be as loud when the engine is decelerating after reving it thats when its more pronounced

It wouldn't hurt to do a injector balance test or just un plug it to be sure to rule out it did cross my mind

i would have ran it with no valve covers and watched and listened to them. they sell clips that cover the oil hole on the rocker so oil dont shoot all over.

you can grab each rocker while its running and feel if one is loose.
