Mostly a personal preference on brand. As far as the type of oil itself goes, synthetic is best in any car if you want to shell out the money for it. If you just want to know the best brand, its just going to be all over the place. Some will say mobil 1 synthetic. Some will say royal purple, some will say Castrol syntec. Pick your poison. I use mobil 1 synthetic. Is it the best? hell if i know. Changing your oil and filter regularly will matter more than the brand of oil. That's where I focus.....maintenance

amsoil or royal purple are very good engine oil, do make sure you use the matching oil filter to what ever brand you go with, these oils are good for extended oil change intervals, if your only going to go 3K miles between oil changes then just use a much cheaper conventional oil

i always ran the cheapest, crappiest oil that was on sale when i needed an oil change. my cars always ran fine. all oil needs to adhere to national standards to even be on the shelf. yes, synthetic is better, but i never felt the need to waste the money on it. a nice oil FILTER is what you should really be worried about.

Well, just to add on my two cents. Everyone here has given you pretty straight up advice and at the end of the day oil choice probably doesn’t matter a whole lot. GPs don’t seem to be fussy on the type or brand oil used. That being said this is what I do. Castrol GTX - every 5k or Castrol Syntec every 8k

I prefer amsoil. I have it for sale in the community vendor section. If you drive your car hard I recommend changing it every 15k.

I'm using the extended performance Mobile 1 synthetic with a mobile 1 filter right now because it was on sale 5 quarts and a filter for 30 bucks.

Best site to ask that questions is bobistheoilguy.com
But the true answer is any of the BIG brands.
Castrol, valvoline and pennzoil are top over there.

Biggest thing now adays is oil filter which top rated is pureone.

I run Vavloline max life which is a synblend.

    well thats complete BS

do you SERIOUSLY think when people take their used oil to the auto parts store or wherever, they really keep track of which brand is which?? and quicky lubes, they have no idea what brand of oil they're taking out of peoples cars
pretty much all conventional oil is recycled oil anyways (and thats a good thing brother)

super tech is made by Warren and Exxon, depending on where in the country you're at

moving on... I run Mobil 1 with a WIX filter. i change my oil roughly every 7-8000 miles. if i wanted a cheaper oil, i'd choose valvoline. if i ever decide to go with a more expensive oil, ill choose amsoil
