Ok here is the question. I have seen all the machining of the LIM & S/C for an I/C on the site. But I haven't seen any dyno specs as to what the machining does for the torque curve. Does it move the torque up or does it stay relitivly the same. Does anyone have any data on this????
    Thanks in advance

it doesnt really gain you any specific power, but it opens up the blower and LIM to more of the intercooler core. this allows more air from your blower to be exposed to the core itself, cooling more air. that is why people do it.

I was worried about raising the torque curve. I want to keep it as low as possible for street ability. I don't want to raise it where I have to rev the crap out of it.

Its a boosted motor. For the most part the torque curve is gonna be straight up then flat for the most part.

I noticed that most all cams peak torque @ 3500 rpm then start dropping off. Only the amount of torque and HP differs from cam to cam... It looks as if the XP will be the best for my application. WHere is the best place to purchase one???

the IC helps eliminate KR and allows you to drop pulley sizes with other supporting mods, as well as what was state above. its not going to affect your torque for streetablity, that would be more of a torque converter thing that you would have to worry about. you go faster easier but not where youll need to be worried.

look in the for sale section here for one.

Thanks for the input. WHat is your reason for the sx1 over the XP? I only ask because the XP cam gives +.002/.003 more duration, +.004/.006 more lobe lift, and only +1* more lobe separation over the S1X cam. I'm just wondering. Again all info is greatly appreciated.

the s1x will have more low end and mid range versus an XP and has proven time and time again to put down better track times. youre going to want an s1x over an XP for sure with the light, tiny car youre using.

LMAO, the XP cam is the BEST cam out there available for this platform. Do some research on Intense and then tell me if you still want to do business with them.............. XP all the way.

Care to show me these "proven" numbers you talk of????

When has the S1X been "proven" better???

...what? if you think your XP car is the bees knees then you have never had your ass handed to you by a similarly modded s1x car. both can be made fast, but an s1x has a better powerband and consistently runs better track times. it MIGHT not make more power overall, but its a better cam in general.

have you ever ran another cam besides your XP? do you know anything about cam grinds and how different grinds run and perform differently?

Even though my join date on this forum may be recent, i've been in the community since 2003. I've been through the "S1" cam scandals. I think you should be asking Intense if they know the differences in cam grinds and how they perform differently.

yea, i've never run an S1X personally, but I know people who have. I Know people who still do. You show me one person who went from XP to S1X......cause I can definitely show you at least 3 who went from S1X to XP. The XP grind does concentrate on mid and high range power, I will agree with you on that. But thats where these platforms need help! Why grind a cam that gives you more bottom end when these cars can't hook up to begin with?

because he is looking for a torque monster in a fiero, not a grand prix/regal/monte carlo/etc.

Touche, I didn't realize it was going into a fiero...... i retract my arguement for an XP, and will replace it with an arguement for an XPZ
