Car is a 1997 GT with a L67 Motor. Car had a vacuum leak LTFT's were at 16.4 sprayed starter fluid around found the vacuum leak was from the EGR tube in the LIM. Made block off plate from aluminum, put it on LIM. Disabled the EGR in the PCM. Start the car...all seems fine, heats up to temp then starts chuging, I'm watching the laptop (powertuner) o2s would be jumping around while it was fine. Then after a few more seconds the o2s from to 60..50...40...30...21.7 then STAY at 21.7 and car chuggs. Hit the gas onces o2s start jumping around again...then after 1-2min chugs again. Also when it starts chuging the LTFT's go from +10-12 to -10 and richer the LTFT's get the harder it chugs. Does this have something to do with open closed loop? What's messed up need help ASAP!

not sure of the problem, but when I blocked off my egr when the pipe broke I had no issues with it running, but did seem to use more fuel (basically I don't think the egr is related but could be wrong)

I don't think it has anything to do with it. I think it is a really STRANGE coincidence why it would happen at the same time is beyond me. I blocked off an EGR 4 hours earlier on our red GTP the same exact way and had no problems.

Nope, the starter fluid was sprayed over a week ago. I just got around to fixing it today. It was driven in that entire time. Good thought though!

Is it throwing any codes at all? I had a similar problem with this at one time, and it turned out to be a bad purge solenoid.
if you don't have all of the EGR codes disabled, it could possibly cause issues, but I've never really run into any idle issues associated with the EGR system.

Hey, sorry i haven't kept this forum updated. But I removed the EGR completely, seemed to fix the vacuum leak. It still chugs. I'm pretty sure its the o2 sensor or a clogged cat will find out this weekend. Also have to replace the steering rack and pinion on the yellow car
