Right now I don't have one, my old one was garbage so I threw it out over the summer when Joe and I installed my intake. But now people keep telling me I should have one, should I get a new one? What does not having it do? Is it restrictive? Thanks.

it smooths out the air flow before hitting the maf and also is a little extra protection... the amount that it affects flow is minimal. id say its more worth it to just leave it on but people have taken it off and left it off.

It really makes a difference in making it easier to tune from what I read. For about I week I took mine out since it was really broke and my car idled kinda rough, I only have a cone on the TB so nothing at all to smooth out the air. After I replaced it the car idled much smoother.

Hmmm, well if it really affects the idle that much maybe I should put it back on then.

Smooths out the air flow for the maf to read it better. It is not really a restriction.

My car threw a lean at idle code when it was removed. Stuck it back on a no problems.

after a while your car will run like ****, as it was said, it helps smooth the air flow out. Hell, even my LQ4 maf has a screen.

If your car is tuned with out it just leave it that way. If you have it just leave it that way. That sound good?

Then just leave it unless you want to retune with it.
