After fixing my belt alignment problem i took the car for a spin. I haven't driven the car since 0ct 30 07. This winter I ported the heads, 3 angle valve job, .052 MLS gasket, arp head studs, gen v swap, n *, LQ4 and a 3.4. After letting the fuel trims learn i went WOT. 7 lbs of boost, 0 KR and fuel trims locked in at 0. I'm really happy with the work i put in. This is all on a xp tune that i bought from zzp. I will tune it eventually but for the first run i was suprised. I suppose only pushing 7lbs of boost helped but thats good for a 3.4 on a Gen v.

7lbs of boost, is that kind of low for your mods?

I'm assuming it's only pushing 7lbs of boost because it flows well.

This is just from what I've read. But the XP bleeds off a lot of boost, IIRC, you should be able to run a lower pulley. But you are right in starting higher and working down from there once you are sure that with some tuning it will run good. I'm ready to drive my car again!

It sounds about right. Good head flow will actually show lower boost levels...but that's a good thing. It just means that it's more efficient. Timing adjustments or even a 3.2 might really bring things to life.

I'm working on a set of heads for mine, I run a 3.2 on it now with about 10lbs of boost, and no KR. Can't wait to see what she does with heads and a 3.0.....or maybe a new engine all together!
