basic hand tools. leave the ac compressor off but lay it on the engine cradle, i always laeve the alt and bracket off too. drop it in. 13mm on the power steering pump, 13mm on alt bracker and alt, 15mm on lower engine mount, 18mm on converter bolts, 18mm on bellhousing bolts, 15mm on ac compressor, 15 mm on starter. 13mm on the b terminal on the starter, 8mm on the s terminal. 10mm for the dust sheild that goes around the converter. 13mm on the downpipe. 13 mm on trans to engine block bracket. plug in all your sensors, maf, tps, iat, oil level sensor, oil sending unit, knock sensors, etc. put the cross over on, 13mm. put the belt on double check EVERTHING. change the oil and hook the negative battery cable back up. start it
Well shoot thats makes it sound so easy any ne can do it Lmao
My writeup should work for ya, atleast for a general idea. For a novice, might take about 8+ hours.

Damn 8 hours to install and it only took us 4 drunkin hours to pull lol
if i do another one im pretty sure i can have it out in around an hour and a half but that includes marking every thing bagging nuts and bolts and so on
Well i'm basing it on a novice taking his time. First time it took me 6 hours to pull the motor and put the new one back in (trans included)... Taking a break to eat dinner haha
then thats fair i guess
Some guys doing a 350 in my class took like 10 hours pulling the engine from a 92 chevy it was ridiculous to watch and it was the gm asep students group
wtf? that engine harness is honestly the size of my thumb...im doing a headgasket job on a 90 chevy truck in my class right now lol. now the 350's in the vandura are hard! you gotta take radiator support and grill and everything out and yank it out the front.
I tend to take my time. An hour and a half start to finish AND running
It was a cluster phuk They left the top trans bolts in and had it under load of the engine hoist triing to take off the engine mounts and then they couldnt figure out how to move it to the yard once it was out cause the trans was moving cause they didnt just pull them together like I told them to do It was bad I pulled one out of a 90 in my front yard in an hour with zero exp
Wow... Had one outta an 85 F-body. Dropped the drive-shaft, dropped the tranny (manual so it wasn't bad and there were three of us), disconnect the few things actually hooked up to the engine, pop distributer cap, pull the engine. Done.
I don't see how this is difficult by any means. Just need the proper tools.
I realize keeping the tranny attached is easier, but for since it was a manual is wasn't that bad.
It was definatly a funny thing to watch
