I was driving my 2000 GTP today for about 3 minutes down a street. I came to a stop light but had a green light. I slowed down, turned right, and gave it about 75% throttle... Sputter sputter... and dead... The engine killed and I managed to get the car to coast from the momentum into a parking lot.

Long story short, I blew a fuel pump fuse. I never had this problem before, but I am wondering if I should be concerned? To me a fuse is there for protection against something else causing a problem (too much electricity). Is something shorting out? Am I going to have habitual problems now? Those kinds of questions run through my head. Is a blown fuel pump fuse a somewhat common occurrence, or am I in for some electrical headaches now? I know only time will tell, but I'd like to be a little proactive if at all possible.

Thanks.
