I recently put on 1.9 RR's and a ssic. At first I could not get the upper gasket from zzp to seal, after 2 gaskets leaking I finally just made my own gasket and no more leak. With the leaking gaskets my fuel trims were 20+ now that I fixed it my FT are all over. At idle they can go up to 14 and at wot they are + or - around 2. I have sprayed tb cleaner all over the engine and can't find any vacuum leaks anywhere. I took it to nyc last Friday and while in stop and go traffic the car would surge when I would just lightly touch the gas and sometimes it would stall. I have not been able to get it to do it again but it was pretty regular that day. Can adding the ssic and rockers change my trims that much or do you think I have another problem???? Thanks for any input.

definitely a vacuum leak, i wouldnt use the ZZP gaskets, been there done that. i made my own with RTV. also check and make sure that the intercooler plates are not warped, that will also make it not seal and risk running a cylinder lean

I am not using zzp anymore I made my own gasket and that area is not leaking anymore. I sprayed around the whole IC with tb cleaner and there was no change in the way the car idled. You did the whole gasket area with RTV and it works??

i didnt use gaskets i used rtv, you do have a leak because the car is stalling and dieing and your LTFT is 14....vac leak...something is leaking somewhere. like i said make sure your plate is completely flat

My IAC count is under 50 also. For the smoke test do I pull smoke through the TB or do it another way?

you need a smoke machine, it uses baby oil and you hook up an airline to it,then it plugs into a vacuum line..most performance shops should have one...what you can do is go to home depot and buy one of those big rubber drain caps that will fit over the TB and clamp down, drill and tap an air fitting into the centre of it and put 10psi into it and hear from where it is leaking from. my guess is your core is warped, happened to me

I put air into the engine and it was leaking out the oil dipstick tube. Right where the o-ring is on the dipstick the plastic was broke so I wrapped it with electrical tape for now untill I can get a new one. My FT is now between 3-6 which is better then 16.4

Well youre pulling more air with those rockers now so im gonna say that might be normal. How does the car run? Its normal for air to leak outa the crankcase, leakage past the rings is normal to some extent, a proper test would be cylinder leakdown test.

the car runs great now, no more surging or stalling. Now I just need to play with the pt and try to get the FT back by 0

So, it just ended up being a leak past the oil dipstick?

yup just the oil dipstick. The ssic never had a leak for some reason all of the gaskets that zzp sold me did not have any gasket material where it was leaking. I made my own gasket and it worked great.
