I currently have a 2000 GTP that is stock. I am looking to run low 13's to high 12's. I am new to the forum and am open to advice. I would like to do the modifications little by little if it is possible. I know for sure that I will not cut corners. So what do you recommend?

slap a filter on the throttle body, water injection, 1.9 rocker arms, headers, port everything, #65 injectors, run e-85, 3.0ish pulley, and find someone who is really good at tuning.

that looks interesting. to me it sounds like it would help out like an intercooler would but that is just a guess.

Yeah it does not cool the air as much, but it is half the price. Also you could run 100% meth for the octane. That is what I am going to start doing.

i think that i would rater run an intercooler even thought it cost more because i wouldnt have to worry as much about tuning. at this point i dont want to tune my own car.

You will need a custom tune no matter what to gain full advantage of the mods.

yeah i know that but i think it would be hard to find someone to tune meth injection. but those are just my thoughts right now. i am trying to get a feel for what upgrades i should do in the spring.

Intake, headers, tune, then drop a pulley maybe.

I was planning on doing those right now and in the spring i will look at intercooling, rockers or maybe a cam swap along with a smaller pulley to get me closer to my goal.

Find a used engine and build it over the winter and drop it in in the spring.

    12's aren't crazy fast for a V6 family sedan?

Well for starters it is a 2 door coupe and I personally don't think 12s is crazy fast considering the fastest 3800 is 8.65 in the quarter. But that is just my goal and I don't think it is to hard to accomplish.

12s is reaching the point of no longer being a nice streetable car. i wont say it cant be done, but it really isnt the BEST option you have especially if your car is a DD.

your best bet is to start with a fullsize intercooler, headers, rockers, and whatever pulley you can run with an amazing tune. that should get you very close to what youre looking for on street tires. add some slicks and that will be 12s, but thats only if your tune is awesome and you know how to drive.

Well so far I think I will do headers, rockers, fs ic, smaller pulley and all the supporting mods. Who do you recommend for a good tune? I just want a really fun dd that is different from the other gtps in my area. Maybe not 12s for sure but definately under 13.4.
