I was wondering what would be a good cam to run for the 3.0 to 2.8 pulley and easy to get a tune out of... I'v heard theres a cam thats really hard to get dailed in for a good tune thats why i ask. Im going to do all the proper mods like ic,head, motor, built tranny and stall etc..... whats your guys input im shooting for 12's next year im starting the build next weekend.

The NIC came is the one that is hard to tune.

    no.

stop talking about things you know nothing about. the TEP will not make big power, but it is a MEAN cam. it will never ever be a good choice if youre looking for a very high end setup. the NIC (named the "non-intercooled cam" for a reason) will not work well with an intercooler because of the sheer amount of boost it bleeds off. you NEED to run a 2.8 to keep up your boost levels because of the stupid amount of overlap it has and will also never be a good choice for a car looking to make big power.

so here we are again, what do you want out of your car? how much money do you want to put into it? answer these questions or i will not help you with anything else.

no you dont. who told you that? whoever did is an idiot. i ran a 3.2 on a rocker car with no knock and i beat on my car like it owes me money.

if you have 10k you have more than enough money to run 12s. you need an intercooler (full size), rockers, headers, whatever pulley you can get away with running about 18* of timing, and the driver mod.

Those runs are pretty horrible for my mods. I need to figure out what is wrong in my tune or where I am getting a hot spot for knock. Where are you at in IA?

You want at least 12's? That is all ducky but hear this.

Your going to need a transmission eventually too...not saying when but it'll happen.

So be sure to have another $2,000+ to buy a transmission from Dave when yours takes a crap on you with all of those mods.

    I say

    ZZP S2IC
    Headers of some kind
XP Cam (If not 1.9:1 Roller Rockers)
ZZP Modular Pulley System with a 2.8"/2.6"
42.5lb. injectors (because anything smaller than a 3.1"/3.0" your gonna run out of fuel with the stockers)
    Some kind of intake
Ported Supercharger/Ported Throttle Body (Contact Reptile on here for that)
    180* T-Stat
    Autolite 104's
    CUSTOM TUNE!! MOST IMPORTANT PART.
    Sold WBody's: '03 Blue GTP/'98 Green GTP/'98 Silver GT/'05 GXP
    '99 Chevrolet Silverado Classic Z71 4x4 - K&N Intake/Gibson Exhaust #TRUCKTHINGS
    '12 Buick Regal Turbo - ZZP CAI/20% Tint/HID's
    '89 Ford Mustang LX Notchback - LM7 5.3, 4L80, 9", HX40

you dont need a cam to run 12s. you need a cam to run CONSISTENT 12s.

if you get a cam then get an s1x. screw that XP garbage.

If you want a cam, then my suggestion is doing the research. Read lots of posts unbiasedly. If you come here and only ask w/o doing any work...you won't know if we aren't suggesting stuff that will blow your car up when you turn the key.

And whatever you do...please, drop the pulley envy. Pulley envy is simply the same as penis envy. Each car is different and should be treated as such. S1X and XP are probably the best good power starter cams available. If you plan on doing heads..then you need to figure out a setup and pick the best cam.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
