    Check out the XP-Z cam

I got the XP, and think I should have got a larger cam...

ALSO!!! don't forget to turn down / machine your blower snout so you can run sub 2.8" pulleys..

I forgot while blower was off the car..

XPZ is only if youre looking for a decent cam to make decent times. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone unless they were actually going for a setup like that. i think its a small, wimpy cam for being one of the bigger cams.

for the OP in this thread, an s1x or XP would work great. hell, even a VS would be a good choice.

for me the only cams id ever run were a NIC, IS3, TEP, or something custom from PRJ. i like BIG cams with BIG idles, but thats just my preference. i never really wanted my car to be obscenely fast, but i wanted it to sound cool and haul some ass when i wanted to. a cam choice is a VERY crucial aspect to a build and i think people are taking it way too lightly on thinking that just any cam off the shelf will get them to a certain level of power which is completely untrue. i know a few guys with VS cams (made to run on stock heads with stock valve springs [ie, small cam]) and their cars would blow a few of the guys with big cams out of the water.

its all in what you want to do with it. you cant just suggest an XP to everyone and it be a good suggestion. im not a ZZP leghumper by any means, but they do make some good products. i just think there are other choices out there that most people just dont consider because they dont know any better.

FWIW i totaly understand and agree with this quote....all of it...do the research for what your trying to get out of your car. Do you want it to be fast as hell and guzzle gas, or fast and good on gas ect. Thats what determines what cam and other parts to go with it you should get. Anymore now days everyone gets lazy and just goes wit the majority of what everyone else says is the best...It took me bout two months to decide on a cam bc of all the research on everything i was doing along with it.Bc i want it to sound good ,be fast, and get half decent gas milage. Im glad i took my time so that later on i wouldnt be doing it again bc it didnt work with this part or that one ect,or this one would have worked better for my setup u know. plus all the xtra money you will spend trying somthing else.Just my .02

finally someone sees my point. all of the cams out there are VERY different from one another in powerband, fuel economy, idle, tunability, necessary supporting mods, etc.

you need to do research and figure out which one is good for YOU, not take suggestions completely to heart from everyone else.

s1x is a nice cam. someone correct me if im wrong, but arent the rocker ratio's in 2000+ actually 1.66 vs. 1.6? if so, then the cam specs advertised will be SLIGHTLY higher, since they list them for 1.6 rockers. something to keep in mind when using stock heads. again, correct me if im wrong.
