What made this car so fast? There is no way that it only had 276 HP. I read it was closer to 300. But 0-60 in 4.7 seconds? More like 400 HP. What kind of 0-60 times are you guys pushing 300 horses getting?

It was fast in its day and gave the Corvette of the same day, a run for its money.

I do not know actual numbers since I am not into them, but with some mods, it was even faster.

the GNX was underrated at 276hp, only 547 were made, they started off as regular grand nationals for $18000 the GNX package was an extra $11000 which included a better turbo, better intercooler, better valvebody in the trans, 16x8 wheels, fender flares, gnx louvers, stewart warner gauges, numbered plaque on the dash, and the special GNX rearend. these cars were randomly picked off the assembly line and the GNX package was installed by ASC MC Claren. the gnx was the fastest production car up until 2001 when corvette introduced the Zo6. the GNX made 300hp if not more, the fact that the rear end used to lift up and not squat made the car transfer all of that power to the rear wheels a lot better hence why it was so fast

Last I heard from a local that has a actual GNX he said all he has done to it is a K&N filter bolted to the turbo and made 293 RWHP and 367 ft. lbs...stock everything minus that filter on it...on pump 92. So you got me...that is like what...350 something to the crank horsepower wise and nearly 450+ tq...yeah...they were 12 second cars from the factory with a good driver.

Theres a reason the GNX cost a lot more than what it should have for taking a car from ~230 HP to 276.
