Is This Ok?

I've heard both ways work. But its really up to the owner.

The gears in the supercharger are moving a lot faster than those in the differential.

Mine spins at almost 15,000 RPM at 6,000 RPM on the motor. A differential has much larger gears and rotating pieces, but I don't think it spins quite that fast. Maybe 8,000 RPM max? Based on that, I don't think 75W-90 gear oil would be appropriate for the SC gears. Something like a very good, low weight synthetic may work, but I'd be looking for something that has a low thermal expansion. The turbine oil sounds like a pretty good idea, though!

That's why I want to try the 10w 30 mobile 1.

fwiw my buddy's mechanic teacher over at penn state college uses mobile1 in his s/c, his Bonneville has 250k.

Heck, why not try the Royal Purple? It has a little more zinc in it, I believe. The real question is what weight should we use? 10W-30, 5W-20?

10w 30 I'd say.

And if these guys jump off a cliff? You are going to follow? Come on.......That weight is not correct if you are gonna use Motor oil in your SC.

Do yourself a favor............USE SUPERCHARGER OIL ONLY.

Anything else is simply ridiculous. :th_thumb-down:
