I'm not quite sure of the part number for K&N, but I've always just used Spectre air filters that they have at autozone, advanced auto parts, pepboys. They are about half the price, but they only come in 3 sizes, however, each filter came accomodate 3, 3.5, and 4 inch piping. Just a thought. I used to have a K&N cone on my GTI, but changed it with a Specte and haven't noticed anything bad about it. I've also put spectre filters on an Impala and a GP and IMO they sound a little better than K&N's, but that's just me. Sorry for not really helping you on your original quesiton.

What I do is just use the K&N filter element cleaner (ironic). But the spectre ones are washable just like the K&N ones but I prefer to use the K&N cleaner and oil souling becuase I had some left over from my old K&N filter (which caused my car to hydrolock by the way, but that was the Ohio monsoon's fault). I clean mine about every 6 months, but filters actually filter air better when they are dirtier and you won't lose air flow since the filter is large enough that all of it's surface area is not an issue. Sort of confusing point there, but basically, the filter is always filtering more air than the car can ever use at one time, so if it is dirty you'll be fine since it's doing a better job cleaning the air. Hope this helps.

Not at all. Your rubber intake tube is 4 inch if i'm not mistake. The only one catch I would add to this is that 4in tubing is slightly slower on throttle response but will get you the most top end power.
