Hi all my wife wrecked her 2004 grand prix and I found a 2006 grand prix gtp and was wondering if all the parts were interchangeable and if its possible to swap the other gtp motor into her 2004 car? I heard about maybe reprogramming the pcm? thanks.

Also...you might run into a few issues if you had a '04 Comp G vs. a GTP.

ya I was thinking about that, the only thing is Im not sure how bad the 06 is compared to the 04 and if the 06 has a title or if its salvaged.

well the 06 for one is S/C and has a little better trim in the interior and is actually black and not charcaol like the 04 (if they are both leather) and if it has a good title and the car is clean then take it to a mechanic and have them look it over and then just drive it. and does the 06 have a less miles then your wifes 04?

Well He said it only has 75k miles and my wifes has over 100k. the only prob is he used the tranny out of it, would my wifes gt tranny hold up to the other gtp. Im waiting for the pics of it but it sounds like it has nicer interior and features for sure. so I may just fix up the 06. its a coffe color he said.

Well would it hook up to it and work at least? I could take it easy as money is very tight and cant really afford different tranny.

It should...just wouldn't be a good idea IMO. The L26 and L32 are essentially the same motor...
