Alright, hit another snag in my plan. It has manifested itself in the form of ignition

According to MS-II documentation, this board was originally designed for one coil/distributor (7 pin HEI for example) and Ford's EDIS systems. Is it possible to have this somehow compatible with GM's DIS? Any insight at all would be highly appreciated. I'll put the pinout for the MS-II board that I have now, and the wiring for the ignition control module.

I have no idea how to proceed at this point. Plz message or reply for more information or if you have any suggestion on how i should continue. thanks for reading.

Sweet. How's it running? Did you do speed density or hybrid alpha-n?

PLEEEEEEEEEEASE share your wiring diagram. I have a local that wants to try and use MSII on an L67 in a Fiero.

This is the megasquirt 2 correct? I had the megasquirt 1 vs. 2.2 board and i dont think it supports sequential injection. Oh well.

That's correct. All versions of MS support only bank injection. Both banks will always inject for the same pulse width also. Can't make one richer and one leaner.

They decided it isn't much of a factor at higher rpms because the injectors produce a near steady spray beyond a point. I don't know if I agree with it or not but good long term results are had.

Got mine up and running last night after a jump start from the S10. Haven't driven it yet. Need to get my wideband hooked up first.

I'm looking forward to seeing more details. I assembled my megasquirt two years ago and am just now getting close to trying to hook it up to my N/A L36 Series II.

Are you running MS Extra or standard MS2?

There is a lot I need to get my mind around again regarding Megasquirt, but this older post from WopOnTour regarding c3i ignition and MSextra was the most informative one I've found. Wish I could say I understood it all.

(Not my thread) but my megasquirt is MS-I running MSExtra. I'm doing fuel only right now and working out the details of how to do the spark. Rather than completely take control of the C3I away from the stock PCM, I had a different idea that might work. Haven't tried it yet.

Hooking it up for fuel only is really simple though.

I'm not sure about that. I think I'll wait for you to upgrade to MS-II to tell me which was easier. Piggybacking with the factory PCM and only having to tune for fuel sounds easier, but I'm pretty sure that I would be driven to madness trying to tune it while wondering if the factory PCM was somehow interfering as I went.

Trying to keep the factory PCM happy is something I want to avoid entirely. I plan to run the MSGPIO for transmission control when it's ready for release - assuming I have the engine running on MS-II by then. Not a practical option for you guys running newer cars with ABS and traction control though.

Congratulations on getting your build up and running BTW !

Ever heard of the happy knob? It's the thing where you twist the knob and it advances your timing by looking at the IAT sensor table.

I don't know if that's real time or not, but my idea was to just get a digital variable POT and hook it up to the megasquirt. This would essentially let MS command the final 10* of timing, while the rest of the time the car would just go by the PCM base timing.

This would let you keep traction control and knock retard stock, but fine tune the timing table with MS.
