I bought a used tuner and I can't get it to connect it keeps saying unable to connect to interface. I am using the keyspan with it and downloaded the version 1.2.4 and the keyspan driver from gmv6pcm.com and still have no luck. Red light on PT is blinking as well as the green light on the keyspan. Please help I want to start using this and i can't figure it out. i will try anything. Thanks

all the com ports go directly to that message except for com port 4 that one shows the status bar and it goes 3/4 of the way across before it goes to the message.

Well, if the tuner is getting power from the Data port, and the computer is interfacing with the tuner, the only other thing is to make sure that your pins are all pushed into the data port. Sometimes they get loose, so you may want to check.

When you select your com port, it should almost immediately find the tuner. You may also want to try to switch USB ports to see if that fixes the problem. I remember having that trouble when I first got mine.

I couldn't tell you about PT with Vista. From what I've read, you are lucky to even get it to run at all. Some versions are more compatible than others I think.
Another one of the reasons I took the leap to HP Tuners.

I recently tossed my DHP at a local buddy and he used the latest software with my Rat Shack cable and it worked 100% for him.

Was totally impressed by it. I know the Keyspan is the most widely accepted cable, the Rat Shack is in the "it should work" list.. overall it works very well for me. Yet I can't say if it's the cable or pure luck. With DHP it's probably more luck than hardware.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

The Keyspan was a gimmick just because Charles and Mike N. were making money off of them. There never was hard evidence that it was the best on the market, and for $35 it is a total rip off. I've used a Radio Shack adapter that I paid $6 for years now, and have never had problems with that connector that wasn't directly related to having it connected correctly.

Do you have the correct version of the .net framework and what year is your car? I always had a few problems connecting to 03+ cars but after a few writes I never had the problems again. Make sure the vehicle voltage is high, leaving EVERYTHING off except for the key forward.

I downloaded all the latest versions that it told me to and my car is an 05. I have tried about 20 times with no luck

I think it was a bad driver. I logged on to a site where he was able to take over my laptop from his house and it looked like the keyspan driver he repaired and it changed to a different com port (9) and it was fixed. It hooked up instantly. I will check with him today to see if it was the problem and post back

I have had two peope with the dhp pt try to tune my car with no success. After repeated tries one was able to read my PCM, but was not able to write to it once the tune was altered. Is just a new driver the fix for it?
