Does anyone know if the MSD plug wires for the 97-03's will fit on an 2004? I asked PFYC but they had no clue either. Well... this is what they said:

Hi Mike: We are honestly not sure - the layout of the engine changed somewhat, and the wire length may not be right for the newer engines. It has not been something that I have heard anyone testing, so I could not be sure.

If anyone knows I'd be much obliged....

as far as I know they should be basicly the same setup......

if not MSD does have a custom wire kit...where you make your own wires.

I would say they fit for the simple fact that Steve in our club had an 04-05 GTP and he got Kevin's MSD wires he won in Branson. And we put them on at a mod day a few months back and they hooked up without issue.

    I hope that helps

This is what I did to get a little longer wire so they aren't forced to be in the way of anything. Plus I know the connections are good and tight!

I just had my MSD coils, wires, and new plugs installed the other day. I know that the information that came with the wires, showed the 3800 Series II in the diagram. I ordered my wires from 3800performance, I hope this helps some. Possibly contact 3800performance, they might be able to answer the 97-03 to 04+ wire question.

Some things did change form the Series II to the Series III motors.

But what did NOT change was the coil mount, and where the spark plugs are located.

If you use common since when you install them, they should fit and install without a single problem.

Well I wouldn't say w/o issue as my big fat hands and arms kept hitting everything in the engine bay, but hey we got it done w/ no major problems.

That's when it pays to have long, gangly arms I guess.
