you should get your L67 heads machined, fluxed, and checked for cracks before you put them back on. You should pull that blower apart and make sure metal fragments didn't get in there, which they probably didn't. Clean up that L67 LIM as well.

yeah were gonna check out blower but we think shes A OK and the lim and heads were going to clean and stuff and were going to get all new gaskets duh. im just saying that maybe just maybe i can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.. ha
well just make sure you help others out with a top swap since you will have some experience
take the l36 bottom end and put your top end off the l67 on it. run it without the blower belt until you get enough mods to run it right. DO NOT buy a whole motor and waste $200. buy a BLOCK ONLY.
thank me later.
i agree with you bio your the man lol but dude what would be safe tothrow the belt on after a while colder t stat headers and 4 inch intake anything else? i dont rally wanna toch the cam man.
the thing that is going to really matter is the tune. if you have no way of getting a tune then im not sure what to tell you.
otherwise i would suggest having at least headers. a rocker setup would be next.
when you say getting a tune cant i just send it out for a tune ? but will i have to like write then a note and say whats done and will be done to it so far or something? this seems so difficult ahhh
I rag the sh!t out of my l36 bottom end, 3.4 pulley, untuned. No problems as long as you have the stock pcm.
how are the OBX headers mini? theyre the cheapest on ebay but i hear the holes dont match and stuff is it true? yeah mini you give me hope on here haha AND TO EVERYONE TRYING TO HELP ME OUT IM SORRY IF I KEEP RAMBLING ON AND ASKING QUESTIONS IM JUST REALLY NERVOUS AND UPSET ABOUT THIS SITUATION.
I understand completely. If i wasnt so knowledgeable about cars and had experience i would feel the same way. Im here to help. Being 100 percent honest here about the OBX and you. Stay away from them. If you dont have a welder, bandsaw, time to mess with them, they arent worth the $250 savings. The ports line up fine, they are cnc cut flanges like everyone else. The thing thats wrong with them are that the crossover doesnt line up, you need to cut it off and reweld it a different position. You also need to weld the other connections as other headers have also. You need to finally cut off the front egr port on the front header flange (they used the same header flange for both front and back, and it interferes up front), and need to drill the egr out to 5/8"; its too small when you get it. Other than that, they are great, stainless headers. If you dont have the tools/ experience stay away, no offense.
will do ok ill stay away from them ha damn it now i dont have a clue what to do =[
guys think cheap and im in a hurry cuz i need my car to go to school in 2 weeks...... FML =[
if some1 can help me and talk with me about stuff please send me a messege VIA aim rocknrollboy90 is my screen name give me a messege n we will talk on aim thanks guys.
fwiw, for my top-swap, i went with an intense custom mail in tune. I wrote down what supporting mods i had, and they sent me my pcm. I have 0.0* of knock and the car runs great, even though if i had a tuner i could squeeze alot more out of it.
If you need the car soon just do the topswap and keep the SC pulley off till you save for the supporting mods. Yeah it's a little slower but it's better than not having a working car right?
YEAH i know brian ill probably do that until i get headers and the custom LOWES 4 inch intake man because i already got the colder plugs and i can get a 180 t stat for like what 9 bucks? haha imthinking about pacesetter black headers that will run me about 400 bucks though but it will be worth it in the end. and maybe ill try porting my blower and lim and t body myself my dad has a dremel but i would only do it with his supervision and stuff.
i think this is what im going to do get a l36 short block and use my l67 top then get supporting mods and a tune and call it a day =p
once its up and running im going to need to find some1 that can tune it for me? id rather not send it in but if thats the last resort o well then.
Im about to email someone in rockford that I hear does great tunes, I'll let you know how it goes.
yes.......keep us posted.....Joe, that is what I would do, just take it easy until you get it tuned or you will be doing this all over again. The tune is key. I also need to get my car tuned, probably wont though until next spring when I finally get the 3.4 pulley on with all the supporting mods....I am working on supporting mods as you can see although it is not going as fast as I had hoped. I would be more than willing to travel to Rockford for the tune(about four hrs away, maybe 3.5) as my Grandma lives there. I could go and visit her sometime and get a tune
