I bought a blower off of a GTP and the snout seems to be shorter than the other ones ive seen. It this just a variation of it or what? IT looks like the length will still work so im stumped. i dont want to start my top swap without knowing i have the correct S/C

yeah take a pic of it...you might have gotten a M62 Series 1 blower by mistake...

    Does it look like...

    This: http://www.dyersblowers.com/mediac/4...eries1-4-1.jpg

    This: http://media.motortopia.com/files/79...M-GenIII-1.jpg

    Or This: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0004_large.jpg

Because for a basic top swap you need the second pic as the first one isn't compatible...and the last one is a Gen V and you'll need some adapters to get it to work.

Just based off his description, I think he might have gotten the blower from a series 1 L67. Either that, or he got a T-bird M90.

Yeah but wasn't that a gen III M90 with a shorter snout?

Series 1 got an m62 and the 3800 didn't utilize the m90 until series 2.

And if you're referring to the T-bird m90, yes it was a genIII with a shorter snout. It still wouldn't work because the inlet and outlet on the t-bird version are completely different.

Oh I know that...I meant on the T-Birds...didn't they use the M90 from day one back in '89? It was basically a Generation III M90 Blower with a shorter snout and smaller pulley right?

Yeah, but the inlet and outlet is totally different on the t-bird m90. Probably to accommodate for the RWD drivetrain setup.

another question i have is since the supercharger uses its own belt that means i need a different crank pulley correct? is this why people just swap out the harminic balancer from an l67

Yes. If you're adding the supercharger to a 3800 that didn't previously have one you need to swap the harmonic balancer (crank pulley) for the one from an L67.
