Please check it, they sent out a several that were just stock replacements and not the thicker core ones!

    It was a supplier error.

I bought one from ZZP in December and finally got to do the install last Saturday, ripped the car apart, opened the box and noticed that it was exactly the same width 7/8's"

Posted on CGP and Zoomer said to send it back for replacement.

So I had to reassemble the car and will have to do it all over again

On a side note, ever since I bought the car (brand new) I noticed a vibration when the second cooling fan kicked in, dealer said it was normal. After looking at it while I had the assembly out I noticed that it was defective and had a chunk missing from the outer wheel part of the fan

Thank God for Ed Morad, he sold me a complete fan assembly for a couple of dollars more than I coulda got a fan blade for. Which is good because after 4.5 years of heavy use combined with blade being off balance I am sure that the fan motor bearing is about shot.

For all you 03 owners, we don't have a coolant level sensor so if you get an after market radiator you will need to find a way to plug the hole!
I picked up an old sensor just to fill the hole.

hmmm. good thing I havent picked on up yet. I agree with checking your parts!!!!
I had different lifters in my comp cams box, and different wrist pins in with my pistons.

quality control nowa days is lacking abit.

but hope all goes well with your new install!!! let us know if you feel/see a difference.

For the money of what these run, its cheaper to run a better fan/shroud set up with a 180* T-stat that will achieve even better results.

Switched out my '97 fan set up with one from a 2002, that made all the difference in the world right there. Then, changed the settings for the fan in the computer, wha-la. It only cost me $25.00 and time.

Rule of thumb there...just because they (anybody) sells it, and has claims of gains, doesn't mean you should buy it. Surprised the vendors are not selling electric superchargers...I mean, they give you 500WHP with a simple bolt on mod, what could be better! Ebay sells them, so they must be good. lol

I agree if you live in a cooler climate.......

But I live in Florida and the car needs extra cooling. Even with the fan settings changed, a high speed fan switch, water wetter , 160 thermostat, my car will get between 190 -200 on the highway in the summer when it's over 100* out. Don't even ask about in traffic.....

I have been to the track when the surface temp was over 150* so I'll take any extra cooling I can get, I have an SSIC waiting to go on and that will block the radiator some too.

BTW I picked it up for 150 shipped on a ZZP woot sale

190-200 is where the internal combustion engine is most efficient typically (south alabama and my car hits 210 in traffic during the summer)

Now imagine a better fan shroud, tstat, and PCM settings with a bigger radiator.
