Well, i just picked a new cam. Its the PFYC cam 1 and the deal was too good to pass up. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with it. And how well do you think it will perform with the mods in my sig? I would hate to go through all the work only to find that it doesnt perform as well as i had hoped.

    The specs are:

    Grand Prix Store Cam #1

    200 degree/212 degree at .050
Intake Lift .315 (.504 lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
Exhaust Lift .325 (.520 lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    115 Lobe Separation

    Thanks in Advance

i believe its similar to the vs from zzp. the vs is a pretty stout cam, so id think itd work out pretty well for you.

    Grand Prix Store Cam #1

    ZZP VS Cam

    206/216 at .050"
Intake Lift .320" (.512" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    115 LSA

So how much of an effect does the duration of a cam actually have on the power produced? And between the the GPS and the VS, which intake/exhaust lift would be best for my setup?

the VS is overall going to be a better cam, but the GPS cam will just make the car react similarly. they are both going to have a good amount of mid range and the powerband will move up considerably as well.

Your'll get more power then the stock cam. But Its probally one of the lowest gain cams out there. I'd just do 1.9 rockers, or a better cam if going all out for a cam installl.

I think I am just gonna do rockers for now. I am going cam in the future, but i would rather wait and just do it right the first time with an XP. Thanks for the advice guys.
