I got one, and because of that... ill be around here a lot now!

While I was reading I ran across someone who had said the 97 gtp's dont handle mods as well as 98-2002... just out of curiosity I was wondering what I shouldnt be doing to this car if I dont want it to blow up.

I have K&N intake... 3.5in pull w/ quik exchange, headers, 3in downpipe and 3 in full exhaust, and I wuddnt mind doing more stuff but its more important to me that I get a lot of miles out of this car, 130k and counting.

So any suggestions whatt not to do?

what you should do is get a tune..............fwiw. I have a 98 and not sure other than the PCM is different from your car to ours and I had heard that 97's have a weaker trans(not sure on this...just what I heard).....someone will pop in and expand on this soon....

    '97 GT - Crap Transmission
'97-'02 GTP - 4T65E-HD...all the same...the '03's have the hardened 4th shaft, and stronger valve body (hence why they can't use a '98-'02 PCM)

Get a tune. And colder plugs.
