So I gotta get the GTP ready for Branson and was planning a L36 or L26 motor to throw into it. Always been able to tear it down (and manage to break ankles and put holes in garage ceilings...LMAO) but when rebuilding it from the ground up is kinda new for me. Figured it is pretty straight forward, but I was wondering on the balance shaft(s). Are there any on the crankshaft it self? I know we took about 7-10 pounds off of my buddy's 4G63 when it was redone...but what about the 3800? I know of the main one up top can be deleted but how would go about keeping that sealed after the holes are exposed after removing it?
It isn't driven everyday so I don't care about roughness or driveability around town, etc...it is made to go fast and that's it I know that for every pound of rotating mass you delete, you gain appox. 7.2 crank horsepower. All you internal guys and people that have been through this...thoughts? Suggestions? Imma-makin-a-beastie
