I've seen these at the WBody store and they look like a stock part for another GM product, maybe a Jbody. Does anyone know what these originally fit on? This might be something I can get from the local salvage yard for $5-10.

yep chevy venture and montana. WBS price is for 2, which is really good as the online discount suppliers charge $17.99 each with the msrp being like $25 IIRC.

I have a brand new set if you are interested. $14.00 shipped. I was going to put them on mine but I got the offset mounts instead. Craig

what happens if you put shortened dog bones on a stock car that isnt lowered ? i need two new ones and wbs's look like a better poly bushing design than the stock rubber , but will it throw off drive shaft angles if its at stock height ?

It will pull the motor forward some and actually line it up better for better oil pick up and stuff like that. It wont/shouldnt do any harm. Im not lowered and Im putting a set on.

thats a pretty good amount , i just installed new motor and trans mounts. would pulling the motor forward an extra 1 - 1 1/2 inchs be damaging to the mounts ?

Personally, I dont see how. But thats my opinion. I would think the engine sitting in a more vertical position would be a benefit to the mounts as the forces would be acting on the mount as intended, straight up and down. I got fairly new tranny and motor mounts as well. Solid no less.

On the subject, will these shotened dogbones cause Pacesetter headers to hit the cooling fans? Are there clearance issues with these? What about the firewall?

Check WBS site. They have a couple of tech notes. I asked Mike to add one about the Monte and Impala fans sticking out too far for proper clearance.
