Thread: I wanna drop to a 3.0 pulley OPINIONS PLEASE

I run a 3.2 now and i am totally KNOCK FREE thx to 03impala9c1 Think I should try a 3.0?? The guy who owned it before me ran a 2.8 with ALKY INJECTION. And that was without Headers and a FWI. My mods are below:

Engine Mods:

Intense MPS 3.2" Pulley
TDCRacing FWI with K&N Filter
42.5lbs Flowmatched Fuel Injectors
ZZP 1.0 PCM Tune (TWEEKED by 03impala9c1 AKA Jeremy)
Taylor 8.2mm Wire & Summit 40,000v Coils
Intense S1X Camshaft
CompCams 105lbs Valve Springs
CompCams Titainium Retainers
Roll Master Single Roller Timing Chain

Exhaust Mods:

OBX Stainless Steel Headers
OBX Stainless Steel 2.5" Off Road Down Pipe
3" ZZP Cat-Back Exhaust
Flo Pro Mufflers

the only way to know if you can do it is to try it. i have a 3.1 to sell you if you want that.

how much timing are you running WOT?

i was pushing about 11-12 psi on my rocker setup with a 3.2, so i would assume with his cam it would be a little less.

I get 11 ps1 of boost and i Run 20* of timing at WOT

drop to a 3.0 and run 17-18* of timing. if youre knocking then you cant run it yet.

Rotors REALLY don't make as much difference as flow mods do...look at stage 2 intercooled people with 2.6's. 8-10 psi MAYBE. Cammed, non-intercooled cars with crazy tunes and such...I was running 13-15psi on a 3.1", no KR, pump 92.

Hey QuikGT.... What are you using for your Alky kit? 50/50 or 100% meth? What kit are you running?

Just keep in mind...just because you have a lot of boost doesn't mean your car is going to be fast. I ran toe to toe with a 15psi GenV'ed car (same cam) and I had a 3.2" GenIII setup running about 12psi...
