As of today, after filling up to full at a Shell station yesterday, my car is shaking after I start the engine. This is after about 40 miles since filling the tank without any issues, so I am not sure if it is possible that the gas could be bad but had not caused any issues until 40 miles into the tank...
It's a 2001 with only 74,000 miles on it. I am having an unrelated problem which if interested you can see here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FG5_Bb1o4PU)...I'm pretty sure there's no relation, as that is more than a year old and it seems like it's pretty benign and I've brought it to a few places but no one can replicate the problem or figure it out, even the dealer, so I gave up. I recently had the water pump replaced because coolant was leaking. I had an oil change about 1,000 miles ago.
Back to this problem, though. Car is shaking on startup and the "service engine soon" light began to blink. Then it just stayed on without blinking after driving a few blocks trying to get home. The light stayed on the rest of the drive, just a mile or two. I'm not too good with engines, but I can understand the basics. I popped the hood and nothing was smoking or anything.
It's a pretty hot day today, almost 90 degrees and the first hot day of the year. I don't know if that's an issue really since the engine temp was OK.
Any ideas on what I can do to diagnose this myself (I have tools, but very little in the way of mechanical knowhow), or any ideas what the issue can be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
